Blaine Cartwright (Nashville Pussy): New band

Lots of news coming out of the Nashville Pussy camp of late. Reissues, duets with Lemmy, upcoming USA tour dates, loads of specials in the 'Rare Shit Store' and... news of a BRAND NEW band fronted by Blaine. Coming soon to FatCat Radio it's The Kentucky Bridgeburners.

Owensboro Kentucky's favorite son

His new band The Kentucky Bridgeburners (EX-NINE POUND HAMMER) has just completed an amazing Gospel record, yeah that's right, a big rockin' good time people of all faiths tent revival record called 'HAIL JESUS!' With special guest ME! Ruyter Suys plays guitar, keyboards and the first ever vocal duet with Blaine. Blaine shares writing credits with Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen on the title track. There are elements of the Rolling Stones, Sex Pistols, Deep Purple and Van Halen, but you've never heard anything quite like this. Slinging Pig will be taking pre orders next week, so keep posted! We'll have ordering info on the Nashville Pussy Facebook page also."

Sounds a hell of a lot more appealing than the typical 'God Music' that gets submitted to the station. For more info on the new project plus news on the reissue of the Pussies' From Hell To Texas be sure to check out the new Rambling With Ruyter blog.

Waxgordon: 'If You Light Yourself On Fire...' (FREE downloads)

"We play fast, we play hard, we play rock."

If you're a long time listener of FatCat Radio and a past devotee of the now retired BIG Show, you may have found yourself asking the question: 'Whatever happened to The Hunchies?'. The answer is: Waxgordon (Detroit, MI)
"Do they sound angry? They're really not. Waxgordon merely discuss love, happiness and confusion with the enthusiasm of a nest of tweaking hornets. The guitars are relentless, the drums punish, and the bass saturates your bottom half. This isn't fraudulent faux-angst or feigned brutality; this is conviction and honesty from four guys who have seen the half-hearted come and go. The approach is the same, but now they're older, happier, more content, and as fired up as they've ever been. And they still spit like a 150 proof breath of fire. If you want to see people with nothing to lose and everything to burn, you might wanna check out Waxgordon."
You can download the 6 song EP If You Light Yourself On Fire, They Will Come And See You Burn for FREE over at Bandcamp.com.

The Highgears: New website launched

"Launched today April 21st, The Highgears debut their new website full of Videos, Audio, Photo Galleries, Show Information, and MUCH more. The site was design by dummer Joshua Huff and will be maintained by all members of The Highgears. The new site offers tons of ways for fans to interact with each other and the band. We're all really exited to release the new site and hope it will serve as a way to keep everyone up-to-date with everything going on in the band."

As I've stated many times before, it's nice to see the return of the artist website. My advice to bands has always been to do all the current flavor of the month social media sites but ALWAYS have at least a basic official website. Cheers to The Highgears. Nice, clean looking & easy to navigate page. Don't forget to check out their Merch section. I just placed an order for this beauty!

VIDEO: Vertical Twin - 'POS Jones'

One of the newest additions to the FatCat Radio roster: Vertical Twin (Providence, RI)

POS Jones is my favorite track from the band. An awfully damn catchy song clocking in at a Ramones-esque minute and a half. For more on Vertical Twin check out their official website at verticaltwinrocks.com. Plus... if you tune in to FatCat Radio today you can hear the brand new station id from Vertical Twin every hour on the hour.

ReverbNation Spotlight: Charlie Hustle

Charlie Hustle (Columbus, OH)
Influences: Black Sabbath - Thin Lizzy - Motorhead - Guns N Roses - Booze - Girls

"People come and people go, but Ohio rock n' roll will remain. Born and bred in the heartland, Charlie Hustle is a real deal sleaze rock outfit with riffs dirty enough for the south side of Columbus. No gimmicks, no glam, all grime, anytime."

Sell music itunes

I've been aware of Charlie Hustle for a couple years now due to their frequent gigs with fellow FatCat Radio artists such as Ohio Noise Machine and The Highgears. Glad to finally have 'em on the station. If you like what you hear you can download their entire Easy Money EP for FREE over at ReverbNation.com .

FatCat Radio artists to appear at Rocklahoma 2011

Congrats to Pretty Little Suicide (Boston, MA) and Rocker Lips (Kansas City, MO) for cracking the lineup of this year's Rocklahoma Festival (May 27 - 29, Pryor, OK). Show the.. ahem... "big boys" how it's done!! I'd pay money to see these two FatCat Radio artists 10 out of 10 times before spending a single dime on the four headliners. That being said I know this is a pretty big deal and I sincerely wish Pretty Little Suicide and Rocker Lips all the best. Hope the gig gets you both LOTS of deserved exposure.
