It's a Halloween themed weekend 'cause let's face it... songs about vampires, werewolves, devils etc are a hell of lot cooler than the typical tired ol' Xmas songs! Regular programming resumes Tuesday.

This week I received the tracks from the Red Hot Rebellion long awaited debut album (3.5 months before it's release date) and I can say without a doubt that they flat out ROCK. American Dog: An update from Michael Hannon

"Things are getting busy in Dog World,....

As you know American Dog just got back from another European tour where we played 25 shows in 30 days,...after that we took a week and a half off, but we are now back to writing new songs,.....

We will head into the studio with our long time producer Joe Viers at the the end on November to knock out as many songs as we can,....I will then head to Los Angeles for a "one-off" Salty Dog Reunion show on December 10th at the Key Club,....While I am out there I will be playing the new American Dog songs for a few managment companies to try and get us the next step up the ladder!

American Dogs XXX-Mas party will be on Saturday, December 17th at the Cock-n-Bull in Summit Station/Pataskala, Ohio. We will do a full set, plus we have "Dressed in Electric" playing.

Other than that, not much happening.

QUICK REVIEW: Six Shot Revival (Atlanta,GA) have enough Southern Pride to brazenly name their 1st full length release Greatest Hits Vol 1 yet aptly describe themselves as "not your Daddy's Southern Rock". Free of many of the cliches of the sometimes tired genre and loaded with excellent songwriting & musicianship, Greatest Hits Vol.1 is easily one of the best releases of 2011. When a 12 song album is 12 songs strong you know you've got a winner. 5 outta 5 cat-heads!!!

The Bloody Muffs: Toothapocalypse

(10/18/11 PRESS RELEASE) NYC punk band The Bloody Muffs' bass player Jessica Carmen has teeth smashed in freak mic accident.

"On October 14, 2011 The Bloody Muffs played a show at The Local 269 Bar, infamously known as "Toothapocalypse". The crowd was into the set and a crazy mosh pit broke out spilling onto the stage. One of our fans went down and the microphone hurled at Jessica as she stepped up to sing blinded by spotlights and unable to see the impending doom. Her front tooth was shattered into pieces. After some spitting out of teeth, a triple shot of whiskey and making sure she was alright by fans and friends, the show went on.

Fans and friends of The Bloody Muffs generously donated almost enough money to cover the emergency repair. Jessica is still left with the cumbersome cost of the permanent repair.

On October 29th 2011 The Bloody Muffs will host a benefit with proceeds going to "Jessica's Smile". Featuring: The Anti Psychotics, The Group Sex Poets, Out Of Order, The Dead Tricks, Tied For Last and of course The Bloody Muffs. Watch if you dare 'cause it's pretty sad. Actually it was a toss up this week when it comes to photos of newly fat vocalists. I don't know any Christina Aguilera album or song titles though.

- THAT'S ALL FOLKS # 1: Kobi announced last month that they have called it quits (on good terms). A new project featuring some of the former members of Kobi is expected soon.

- THAT'S ALL FOLKS # 2: Silent Meow have also called it a day after seven years. Their final show was last week. CDs & merch on sale for 1/2 price while supplies last.

- DRUMMER NEEDED: The Anxieties (Portland, OR) will have an opening for a drummer after what could "maybe our last show for the foreseeable future!" on Friday 10/14.

If you're even an occasional listener of the FatCat Radio Network an intro to Dave Arcari really shouldn't be needed as he's long been one of our notable artists. As such you can hear his tunes aired several times through out the day. Above is the brand new 2011 version of the introduction video Dave's been doing the last few years. Primarily intended for venue owners and promoters it does serve as fine intro for new fans as well. Great idea!

American Dog (Columbus, OH) finished up a month long tour of Europe yesterday. Fans did a great job documenting the gigs. Lots of footage on the ol' You Tube. Above is a long threatened cover of one of my personal favorites from The Cramps (with a smidge of Uncle Ted) performed September 21 at Caf'Conc in Ensisheim, France.

QUICK REVIEW: Stevie Peavey & crew have their collective tongue planted firmly in cheek but the funny thing is Deathsquad Demongods flat out rock & very well may back up their boastful album title. Well worth the $2.00 download (7 song EP) or $0.20 individual tracks. 4 outta 5 cat-heads!!!
